During the Yap-Mariana Seamounts cruise, 16 ROV dives were conducted to conduct three-dimensional oceanographic surveys of the seamounts in the north-south, vertical, east-west and horizontal directions, and the deepest position detected by the ROVs was 2,300 metres, while the shallowest position was 20 metres at the summit of the seamounts. It completed the task of obtaining samples of seafloor topography, benthic organisms, water column and rocks from the seamounts.
